In Some Way

each poem

i write

is to outrun

your memory

reaching

places

where the pain

of your absence

no longer

exists

Three Years After Reading Neruda Together, Beside the Lake

i need

somewhere to fit

this sadness

perhaps

in the corner

of a cloud's

pink-linted

pocket

lit

with scents

of wild

cherry life

savers stuck

to the letter

i sent

you

still

unanswered

COLLAGE OF GRIEF

stuck

and struck

with every

stage

all at once;

a never ending

cut

and paste

of ache

and memory
