Flight
in the forest this morning
my clothing softs; a practical, real solace
I have seven definitions of silence now
this one: the curve of that blue egg
the shell tremble against my palm
I am not so midnight-spotted, though
I am not so broken eggshell
such other quiets
are only reasons to narrow
to hold with no quiver
do not speak to me of arrows
I know the flex of slender willow
the bite into fresh, soft bark
