[every time i see
you]

the sky
snows
around
me

warm shawls
of all
the unsaid
i've wrapped

inside
a globe
shaken
to silence

everything
waiting
at your
feet

  for Thích Nhất Hạnh

 ch'an

echoes of geese
percuss
the breeze

bells flutter
through
falling snow

your silence
is a lamp
lit

[your tracks]

have lasted
longer
than the past

five winters

remnants
of our last

embrace
between
silence

leading
to constellations
still

yet
to be
named
